Katie Taylor vs. Chantelle Cameron Confirmed for Light Welterweight Title Fight at 3Arena

Katie Taylor of Ireland will have the opportunity to become the undisputed two-weight champion on May 20th.
It has been confirmed that the ‘Bray Bomber’ will face Chantelle Cameron in an undisputed light welterweight title fight at Dublin’s 3Arena.
World Twoweight Champion Chantelle Cameron is the current undisputed light welterweight champion of the world, holding the WBC title since 2020, the IBF and Ring magazine titles since 2021, and the WBA and WBO titles as of November 2022.
The Briton was crowned the undisputed super lightweight champion last October with a thrilling victory over former Taylor rival Jessica McCaskill.
Taylor, 36, was scheduled to face Amanda Serrano in a rematch at the 3Arena on May 20 in her first professional fight in Ireland.
However, the possibility of that fight was quashed when an injury ruled Serrano out of the fight.

In response to the bad news, Taylor called Chantelle Cameron on social media for the 3Arena date – and now she’s made her wish come true.
Cameron, 31, was thrilled to fight Taylor following the Bray native’s social media call.
And Cameron is confident she can silence the Dublin crowd and incite shock against the Wicklow native.
In conversation with the Speaking to the Irish Mirror last week, Cameron said: “It was a bit of a shock when Katie put it out because she doesn’t usually call anyone or really put anything out.
“When she put it up, I got a lot of messages and I was like, what the hell is this?
“I figured someone must have hacked Katie because she wouldn’t normally do that.
The England fighter has been full of praise for the Irish but she will look to silence the crowd in April.
She added: “I saw it and I thought, you know what, she deserved this homecoming. Obviously, I’ve always wanted to fight Katie. Who does not? When you are in Katie’s department you want to challenge yourself Katie because she is the best of the best.
“My whole career has been about fighting Katie and getting the opportunity, so I’m going to take the chance.
“What she has done for women’s boxing is the right thing for her to fight in Dublin. I don’t know why it took so long because she boxed everywhere but never really in Ireland.
“She deserves this homecoming and if that means I have to pull all my belts up, then so be it. I believe in myself enough to come in and risk it all.”
The fight will be broadcast on DAZN, ticket details to be announced.
