The lollipops given to the lemurs are made from foods that make up their normal diet, including pears and carrots.
Other animals, like tamanduas, are treated with fresh watermelon to keep them hydrated.
Chris Kibbey, deputy zookeeper at the park in Burford, Oxfordshire, told the BBC: “When a heatwave is forecast, it’s important that the animals have access to shade and water at all times.”
“It’s a good opportunity for zoo keepers to use their enrichment skills to ensure all animals have novel ways to cool down.”
Mr Kibbey also said zoo keepers also made sure all animals had access to adequate shade and plenty of water at all times.
