Kelly Clarkson delivers amazing cover of Chris Stapleton’s hit You Should Maybe Leave

Kellyoke is one of the best segments on daytime television.

It’s also the only one I watch on a regular basis, but that’s beside the point.

Kelly Clarkson is known for covering country songs quite a bit on her show, and she usually draws from many different genres across the musical spectrum, which I love.

And a few days ago she decided to perform “You Should Maybe Leave”. Chris Stapleton for the live audience, which of course sounds fantastic. I honestly haven’t heard of her botching a cover.

Actually the song became Chris’ third #1 hit of his career at Country Radio last year, and had a fan favorite for many years. Co-written with Ashley Gorley and Chris DuBois, he eventually included it in his 2020 Start again recording

A bluesy tune about bad decisions and two lovers who know they shouldn’t be together but want that more than anything, it was one of my favorites Start again, which had an impressive tracklist from top to bottom.

And next time, when they both have incredible chart-topping vocals and can sing their ass off, I think Chris and Kelly should make this a duet…
