Kevin De Bruyne explains why winning the Premier League would be Arsenal’s biggest win in years

There are interesting battles up and down the table as the season rushes to its commercial end.
De Bruyne’s Manchester City lead Arsenal by five points and are yet to play Mikel Arteta’s side at the Etihad Stadium, while the composition of the top four and last three is far from certain.
Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle and Liverpool are all battling for qualification for next season’s Champions League, while Brighton, Brentford and Fulham could also finish in the top seven.
Further down the league, only five points separate the bottom eight.
Premier League teams continue to outperform their European counterparts as post-pandemic spending in English football shows little sign of slowing down.
That, says De Bruyne, makes the league its most difficult in years and underscores the scale of the challenge facing Arsenal.
“I think the league has changed a bit, the lower the teams are, the more money they can spend and buy more good players,” he said.
“I feel like all 20 teams have so much quality and I think the level of difficulty to beat all those teams is getting harder and harder. We’re second in the league, we’re in three competitions, so I think if you compare many different years I don’t feel too different.”
