The Bishop Auckland show ‘Kynren – An Epic Tale of England’ has been shortlisted for Best Event for Groups at the Group Leisure and Travel Awards, taking place in October.
The annual awards recognize the best providers, attractions and group travel destinations chosen by their readers.
Kynren has long been popular with group tour operators due to its 8,000-seat grandstand capacity to accommodate large groups, stunning Bishop Auckland location and appealing to visitors of all interests and ages.
Kynren offers special rates for groups of 20 or more, as well as exclusive rates for schools and groups such as scouts and guides.
Anne-Isabelle Daulon, Managing Director of 11Arches said: “We are delighted to be among the finalists for the award.
“One of the most joyful parts of a night out at Kynren is listening to groups return to their mode of transport after a show and compare their favorite scenes. We look forward to another summer full of memories.”
Voting on the awards is open until Sunday 2 July. Kynren faces competition from other high profile events including Royal Ascot, Goodwood Festival and BBC Gardener’s World live.
All finalists were required to receive a nomination before being shortlisted for the final round of voting.
Performed by a 1,000-strong volunteer cast and crew on a 7.5-acre outdoor stage, the multi-award-winning live-action extravaganza delights and dazzles the senses with its blend of close-ranged combat, daring stunts, incredible horsemanship, breathtaking pyrotechnics and amazing special effects.

Kynren returns this year for a seven-week run over the summer holidays.
Running every Saturday night from 29th July to 9th September throughout the summer, the 90 minute show is a unique experience not found anywhere else in the UK.
The show is produced by the charity 11Arches, which was co-founded with the Auckland Project by philanthropist Jonathan Ruffer. Since its inception in 2016, it has attracted almost 400,000 visitors to Bishop Auckland in County Durham.
