Lady Tamara review – reality series showcasing the life of socialite Tamara Falco

This life as a movie star is Tamara’s normal life and here we get an up close and personal look into her world.

There are no spoilers in this review of the Netflix reality series Lady Tamara.

Netflix has released its latest reality series in which we follow the life of a rich and famous person. In this series we follow the glamorous life of Tamara Falco, the famous socialite. We see how she manages to balance her work life, social life and famous family.

Being the center of attention is something this family is used to and in six episodes, each lasting around forty minutes, we get to see them up close and personal, with fly-on-the-wall style films mixed in with interviews . The audience enjoys seeing the lives of rich and famous people, on the one hand it is entertaining and on the other hand it helps us to take our mind off our everyday life; Let’s live through their experiences and hopefully see something we can relate to. As awful as it sounds, audiences enjoy watching other people suffer and be unhappy.

You don’t have to know who Tamara is to enjoy this series, but if you didn’t know, she is the 6th Marchioness of Griñón, a Spanish aristocrat, and co-host of the TV show El Hormiguero. She is the only child of the aristocrat Carlos Falcó, 12th Marquess of Castel-Moncayo, GE with Spanish-Filipino socialite Isabel Preysler. In short, she’s a rich, chic, important woman. A busy bee with a crazy social calendar, it’s surprising that she finds time to pursue her greatest passion, cooking. In the episodes we see how she builds and opens her own restaurant and what obstacles lie in her way.

What I really liked about this reality series is the fact that it doesn’t feel pretentious or like it’s intentionally attracting attention with its lavish lifestyle. This world is her oyster and everything she has is natural to her. In her on-camera interviews, she’s sat between her grand double staircase, and it feels glamorous, not garish. A very inspiring woman, she is her own empire, independent and follows her passions.

There are snippets from old home videos of her as a child and growing up which really gives this series a personal feel. Home movies have most of our families and remind us of the good old days and how far we’ve come. Some viewers might not be able to relate to her buying YLS on a whim, but they can relate to her cute home videos.

We get glimpses of private, prestigious parties, fashion shows, exclusive shopping, walking the streets of Madrid and New York and everything else you can imagine. Unlike similar shows, this series has a cozy and sweet feel, there’s no serious, intense drama or fights. Of course we see some scandal and tension, but nothing that feels forced or tucked in for the purpose of television.

Overall, this series is a simple watch, something to consume and something to maybe have in the background while you’re cooking. I recommend watching this if you are a fan of reality shows.
