Lafayette Traffic Officials Give Update on Kaliste Saloom Project

For the past two years, residents and travelers using Kaliste Saloom Road between Ambassador Caffery Parkway and E. Broussard Road have faced ongoing roadworks that have resulted in lane closures as workers widen the carriageway from two to five lanes to have.

When traversing this area, drivers really had to pay close attention to the road while driving through the construction site or they risked an accident.
Around 22,000 drivers use this corridor every day in Lafayette.
Over the last two years the super roundabout at the junction of Kaliste Saloom and E. Broussard Road has helped to better manage traffic in the area.

Well after all the construction that drivers have had to navigate in this area, KPEL News is pleased to announce that ALL TRACKS on Kaliste Saloom between Ambassador Caffery and E. Broussard Road ARE NOW OPEN. This emerges from a press release from the Lafayette Consolidated Government. The lane was fully cleared on Friday morning.
Now, according to LCG traffic officials, there are “minor remaining tasks to be completed before it (the project) officially ends”, but drivers will notice a big difference as all 5 lanes are now open.
Once these “minor remaining tasks” are completed, the ribbon will be cut to celebrate the hard work that has been completed. The project should be completed in September 2022.
