Lafayette’s Downtown Alive! Announces Fall 2022 Lineup

Downtown Alive is coming soon! its 40th anniversary! Returning in autumn 2022.

Downtown Lafayette Unlimited (DLU) has announced the Fall 22 lineup for Downtown Alive! announced and it features some amazing artists.

With shows beginning in September, the program includes Bach lunch performances.

DLU would like us to dust off our dancing shoes because they are very excited for this season’s concert series.

It starts on Friday 2nd September at Parc Sans Souci with flowing liquids at 5:30am and the first band turning on at 6am. Downtown Alive’s first night! starts with a great pairing: The Revelers and The Magnalites!

The Magnalites are a family band from Cecilia and according to their Facebook page they play LOUD AND PROUD!

What are you playing? Good old rock and roll.

Just look at them: don’t they look like a fun time?

If you’re a fan of rock and roll, especially 70’s rock, this is the show for you!

The Magnalites follow the Cajun sounds of The Revelers playing a mix of Cajun, Country, Zydeco and Swamp Pop.

How good are the Revelers? You’ve been nominated for a Grammy!

The series continues on Friday 9th September with another great pairing: Chris Ardoin and Wayne (Singleton) & Same ‘ol Two Step.

Chris Ardoin’s zydeco performances really draw an audience, and you’ll need to bring fireproof shoes for his performance (he’ll have you on your feet the whole time).

The Zydeco night continues with Wayne Singleton and Same ‘ol Two Step, a band trying to stay true to their Opelousas/Lawtell roots.

Another pairing for the night of September 23: Rusty Metoyer & The Zydeco Krush and Kyle Huval & the Dixie Club Ramblers.

Rusty Metoyer brings his zydeco to continue a family tradition: both his grandfathers were musicians!

Kyle Huval & the Dixie Club Ramblers round out the night with their traditional French Cajun music.

It’s going to be a great Fall 2022 with Downtown Alive! back in full swing!

Not only downtown lives! back, but Bach Lunch is back too.

Scheduled for the cooler temperatures of October, Bach Lunch features not only lunchtime music but also local food trucks for you to snack on while you stomp.

On October 7th, Julian Primeaux will play at Parc Sans Souci at noon. Bring the family or office and have lunch under the trees in Parc Sans Souci.

Already next Friday you can have lunch in the Parc Sans Souci to the traditional French Cajun sounds of Le Freres Michot.
