League of Legends player discovers fake Q animation for Space Groove Blitzcrank, calls it “pay-to-win abuse”

League of Legends may be having a bit of a competitive health issue, as a player appears to have spotted a game-changing exploit on one of Blitzcrank’s skins.

The cosmetic in question is the Space Groove skin. A Blitzcrank player found an exploit that is a fake Q animation and enemies appear to be “juked” by it.

Blitzcrank’s Q is one of the most powerful supports in the game, and grabbing the intended champion with it can easily turn the tide in his favor.

The ability also gives him a good level of lane presence and pressure. Therefore, in the early stages of the game, players are quite weary of grasping and try to avoid it at all costs.

However, as seen in a recent Reddit post, the Space Groove Blitzcrank appears to have a groundbreaking exploit. The player can use it to fake the animation, causing the opponent to juke the ability, wasting resources like mana and flash in the process.

Is Space Groove Blitzcrank a pay-to-win cosmetic product in League of Legends?

Over the years, the League of Legends community has found many cosmetic exploits that have resulted in a “pay-to-win” gimmick being built into this particular skin, although this was not intended by Riot Games.

One of those infamous skins was another Blitzcrank cosmetic called iBlitz, whose Q-Grab animation was one of the most difficult to manage visually.

However, in the case of Space Groove, the player could fake the start of the animation themselves by using the Ctrl-4 key combination to perform the action. The animation showed him stretching his left hand while the Q ability made him stretch his right.

To a player who is unaware, the fake would make it look like Blitzcrank is actually using the Grab ability, making him juke it as soon as he sees the animation start.

In the Reddit upload, you can clearly see how the Blitzcrank player was able to coax lightning out of the enemy Ezreal by continuously faking the Q animation.

Many in the post have called Riot Games and told them that the ability for players to exploit the Space Groove skin in this way is hampering the game’s competitive integrity.

Animation forgery shouldn’t be allowed in a title like League of Legends, and it seems the exploit only makes the skin a “pay-to-win” cosmetic. Hopefully Riot Games will try to fix this issue in future updates.
