Canadians will be voting in a federal election in a year and a half. It’s time for voters to set the agenda and force change. Our system doesn’t work for us. The Senate, the RCMP and the judicial system must be separated from the state. When politicians make unethical or corrupt decisions, there must be an immediate impact. Democracy must be enshrined in our constitution. Public consultations made necessary. No more Caucus, CSIS, or RCMP secrecy. All federal expenditures are made publicly available.

(There is no question that we need to examine the many things I did to the Trudeau Liberal government. They were the most secretive and incompetent government we have had in years.)

HOME RUN JACKET

Last year, the Blue Jays were a happy team having fun in the dugout and on the field. Someone intervened and took the fun out of the team! Could that “someone” be the manager? The manager? The backup coach? Obviously there is a lack of trust. Swagger is missing. Bring back the home run jacket! Try everything.

(Whatever it takes to get out of this crisis)

THE SUN IS SHINING

Regarding Please Answer (Letters to the Editor, May 21): Some people will see racism around every corner. How is “not now chow” racist? That’s the woman’s name. I’m terrified for the Toronto I grew up in if a left-leaning mayor is elected. Thank goodness the sun will keep pointing that out.

(We share that concern. Toronto is already a mess, Chow will make it worse)

A censoring matter

On “CRTC considers banning Fox News after LGBTQ2 group complaint” (Postmedia News, May 5): It’s embarrassing to live in a country whose government censors people and information (e.g. banning RT by the CRTC in February 2022 and this consideration of banning Fox). . Maybe the CBC is banned in Russia or China, but then we should be better and fought against such behavior in WWII. In summary, if the CRTC and the minister responsible for it want to censor people or information, why not move to Russia or China?

Nathan Manning
West Vancouver, BC

(Some idiotic ideas have been put forward by the left – this one is at the top. But it’s up to the rest of us to keep our hands off CRTC.)

A chill and a swindle

Well, at least we learned something from David Johnston’s report. The obvious translation of “Special Rapporteur” into English is “shill”.

(This is what happens when you hire your friends to get you out of trouble. Seems to work for Trudeau every time.)
