Lily-Rose Depp appears alongside The Weeknd at the Cannes Film Festival

Ily-Rose Depp followed in her father’s footsteps when she came to the Cannes Film Festival.
The 23-year-old US actress joined Canadian superstar The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – ahead of the premiere of ‘The Idol’ on Monday.
The couple stars in the series, in which an aspiring pop star, after suffering a nervous breakdown, begins a complicated relationship with a self-help guru and contemporary cult leader.
Created by Tesfaye, the HBO series marks his acting debut and will be directed by Euphoria director Sam Levinson.
It also stars Blackpink singer Jennie Kim, Australian singer-songwriter Troye Sivan and actress Rachel Sennott.
According to the US media in attendance, The Idol received a five-minute standing ovation after screening the first two episodes, which featured “salacious intrigue” and several explicit moments.
On the carpet, Depp wore a strapless black mini dress with floral detailing, while Tesfaye wore a simple black tuxedo.
Last week, the actress’ father, Johnny Depp, returned to the limelight in Cannes after he filed a high-profile defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard last year.
The Hollywood star stars as King Louis XV in the upcoming film Jeanne Du Barry. up – his first big screen project in three years.
At a press conference in Cannes, he said he had “no further need” for Hollywood.
“Do I feel like I’m being boycotted by Hollywood?” he told reporters, referring to the fallout from his US lawsuit.
“You wouldn’t have to have a pulse to feel like ‘no’. None of that happens. “It’s a weird joke,” he said.
“If you’re asked to back down from a film you’re making because of something that’s just a function of vowels and consonants floating in the air, you feel boycotted.”
But he added: “I don’t feel boycotted by Hollywood because I don’t think about Hollywood. I myself don’t have a great need for Hollywood anymore.”
Other stars pictured in Cannes on Monday during the second week of the festival included Jude Law, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Stella Maxwell and Julia Fox.
Known for her striking looks, the Uncut Gems star wore an elaborate white gown with layers of sheer material forming a fan shape behind her.
She completed the ethereal look with an almost white foundation and black lipstick.
Also on Monday was Magnum’s annual party in Cannes, which launched a new version of the track by TikTok star Jvke called “Golden Hour” (feat. the Sun).
Stars pictured at the event included Eva Longoria, Nicole Scherzinger and British broadcaster Clara Amfo.
