It was recently announced that fans would be given the opportunity to vote on the show’s first couples before the queues closed on Friday night (June 2).
However, a showrunner has revealed that fans could look forward to more twists as the series returns for its tenth season.
At the request of radio times when viewers could expect changes to the format, itv Producer Mike Spencer teased that there would be more than a few changes to the show beyond those previously announced.

“We know that publicity will bring islanders together. But I think from the start, the beginning of the show could be a little different.”

When also asked if fans could look forward to Winter Love Island returning, he said it would “hopefully” return.
He said: “I mean, we don’t have anything concrete for the future yet, but hopefully.”
Adding: “Never say never. But I think the thing is, I thought it was a great series with different time slots and different viewership.”
“I think the way people watch TV is changing. But I hope people still love the show. And I think it’s up to us now as producers to change the format, keep it fresh and keep people engaged. Expect the unexpected.” That’s the key!”
The final season of the show’s winter edition took place in South Africa.
With that, Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan were crowned champions after intense weeks.
Love Island will return on ITV2 and ITVX on Monday 5 June from 9pm.
