ITV has teased a new filming location for the South Africa-based series, which sees the islanders looking for love in the “villa of their dreams”.

Love Island season 2 in 2023 will then air in the traditional summer slot.

This series takes place in the famous villa in Mallorca, Spain. Both seasons run for eight weeks.

Love Island 2023

ITV bosses have declared that airing two seasons of Love Island in 2023 is a no-brainer.

Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning and Control at ITV, spoke about the decision.

“Love Island has once again proved to be the nation’s favorite topic of conversation all summer long,” he said.

“So instead of just serving up a Summer of Love, we thought we’d make 2023 the Year of Love with two full series of the show,” he added.

Viewers now have to wait even less between runs of the steamy show! What more do you want?

Michael Owen warns Gemma

The news comes just hours after Michael Owen warned 2022 islanders about his daughter Gemma.

The former soccer legend has warned islanders to “keep out of her way” when she takes part in competitions.

“On a game day or if it’s a big competition, when she goes in that ring, she becomes a horror. It’s like – you get your game face open and you can’t control it,” he said, according to MailOnline.

Michael then went on to say that he is the same. He claimed he never let anyone talk to him before a game.

“She’s the same, she’s terrible. Avoid her when there’s a big competition coming up,” he said.

“It means so much to you. Start focusing on the task at hand.”

Love Island continues tonight (Thursday 23 June) at 9pm on ITV and the ITV Hub.
