Love Island’s Zara McDermott is set to star in BBC series Strictly

Since appearing on the ITV dating show, McDermott has made a number of television documentaries.

On Monday afternoon, the 26-year-old was introduced as the show’s newest contestant.

So far, actress Amanda Abbington, Bad Education Star Layton Williams, presenter Angela Rippon, journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy, comedian Eddie Kadi and Irish TV presenter Angela Scanlon have been announced as stars taking to the dance floor Severe 2023

Zara McDermott joins the Strictly Come Dancing cast

The news that McDermott is taking part in the dance competition was announced on BBC Radio 1 on Monday afternoon.

The multi-award-winning entertainment show, produced by BBC Studios, will soon return with its new series on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, once again bringing glitz, glamor and glorious dancing to homes across the country.

Additional celebrities joining Strictly 2023 will be announced in due course.
