LSU Taking ‘Immediate’ Action Over Student-Athlete’s Racial Slur

LSU says it is aware of viral video showing one of its student athletes using a racial slur.

According to a tweet sent Saturday by the official @LSUsports Twitter account, the university says it is taking “immediate and deliberate steps” to address the tweet, which has been circulating widely on social media.

A WBRZ report says an LSU tennis player has been identified as the person seen using the racial slur in video shared late Friday (September 16).

The video was shared on Twitter late Friday and caused outrage online, with many identifying the person in the video as a university tennis player.

The video clip (below) featured a woman using the NSFW slur — allegedly on campus, according to sources who claim to be familiar with the situation.

The same Twitter account featured another NSFW video of the student and appeared to reply to others who pointed out that she “literally used the n-word.”

Her answer: “…and?”

While LSU says it has taken “steps” to address the situation, the university has not made clear what type of discipline the student and athlete might face — or if she would face any consequences at all.
