Major support item nerfs set to arrive in League of Legends’ PBE, healing and shielding take massive hit

Healing and shielding are two key areas that League of Legends has been trying to balance since patch 12.10. However, it seems that none of the changes so far have been able to have a major impact on the game.

Champions like Soraka, Sona, and Yuumi still felt extremely powerful, causing players to become angry in-game. As such, on July 15, 2022, the developers dropped some major nerfs to some of the strongest support items in the League of Legends PBE.

These changes are scheduled for patch 12.14, which will be released on July 28, 2022. During this time, the developers will listen to community feedback and make further changes as needed.

Before proceeding, it’s important to go through all the major changes that support items will receive in League of Legends with Patch 12.14.

Support item nerfs

Forbidden Idol

  • Heal and shield power reduced from 10% to 8%

Glowing incense

  • Heal and shield power reduced from 10% to 8%

Mikael’s blessing

  • Heal and shield power reduced from 20% to 16%

repayment

  • Heal and shield power reduced from 20% to 16%

moonstone restorer

  • Maximum heal and shield stacks reduced from 5 to 4 (maximum heal and shield reduced from 25% to 20%).

Wand of Flowing Water

  • Heal and shield power reduced from 10% to 8%

Support champions with healing and shield abilities are extremely powerful in the game right now. These primarily include champions like Seraphine, Lulu, Karma, Soraka, and other enchanters that can be very strong in any scenario.

However, once players purchase these powerful support items that further improve their healing and shielding, the champions become even more difficult to deal with in a match. In fact, a single Soraka can make all the difference if she consistently heals her team and helps them fight, even though the opposing team is superior in every way.

Of course, many League of Legends players will get angry if the entire farming and lane advantage is wasted just because there is a healer that can restore all champions to full health with a simple click of a button. As such, Riot Games has decided to take this very seriously.

Despite this, fans are not very happy with the nerfs that have been spawned for the PBE. League of Legends players feel that Seraphine, Yuumi, and Nami need bigger nerfs as tweaking the support items only makes the game more unbalanced.
