A 46-year-old man in Derry was charged with a series of drug-related offenses after a search in the Drumahoe area on Thursday.
He was due to appear in Londonderry Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply it and concern over the delivery of a Class B drug.
The arrest and seizure of the suspected drugs, with an estimated street value of £3,000, was carried out by officers from the Waterside Neighborhood Team during a planned search of the area. Drug-related paraphernalia worth £3,000 in cash were also seized.
Constable Merron of the Waterside Neighbor Policing Team said: “Drugs have no place in our community and through Operation Dealbreaker we will continue to address the supply, use and harm from illicit drugs.
“We are grateful for the support from the local community and I would like to take this opportunity to encourage anyone in your area with information or concerns about drugs to call us on 101. The faster we get information, the faster we can act. Even if you don’t think it’s significant, it could make a difference.” As usual, all charges were reviewed by prosecutors.
