Man City XI vs Chelsea: Expected line-ups, confirmed team news and recent injuries for Premier League

Pep Guardiola’s side are set as champions if Arsenal lose to Nottingham Forest on Saturday but still have a chance of completing the task themselves a day later, even if the Gunners delay the party.
A stunning midweek win over Real Madrid propelled City into the Champions League final and Guardiola is likely to continue against Chelsea with a similar side in an attempt to secure the league title in time.
Riyad Mahrez will hope to return to the starting XI, although Bernardo Silva shone on the right wing against Real and received high praise from the City manager after the game.
“Bernardo is always there in this type of game,” said Guardiola.
“I’ve always said he’s one of the best players I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Nathan Ake is still doubtful about injury and Manuel Akanji could continue at left-back. Kyle Walker is also likely to keep his place after impressing in both Champions League games against Vinicius Junior.
Ilkay Gundogan’s form is unlikely to see much rotation in midfield, while Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez may have to settle for bench spots again.
Frank Lampard revealed in his pre-match press conference that he was looking to bring Erling Haaland to Chelsea and the City forward should get his chance to show the Blues what they’ve been missing as he tries to add to his 36-league tally increase.
Predicted Man City XI: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Akanji; Stones, Rodri; Mahrez, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Grealish; Haaland
