Man dies in Woodford Green apartment fire
London Fire Brigade (LFB) stormed the Chigwell Road property at 2.19pm on Monday following reports of a major fire.
Most of an apartment on the ground floor of the two-story building was damaged by the fire.
A man exited the building before firefighters arrived. However, another man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fire was under control by 2:50 p.m.
Firefighters from Woodford, Walthamstow and Hainault fire stations were on site.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the LFB and the Metropolitan Police.
