Man fell through ceiling of Shreveport truck stop during burglary arrest

Just before 2am on Sunday, Caddo Sheriff’s patrol officers were dispatched to a suspicious circumstance at a rest stop on Block 12000 of Mansfield Road. A clerk reported that a man had been in the back of the store since 11 p.m. the night before. After a loud noise in a toilet, the clerk couldn’t find the man, believing he was in the attic.

Officers checked and searched the area and found the man was in the attic. A K9 could not be used because the ceiling had little structure. Sergeant Rodney Spikes and K9 Corporal Marc Herring climbed into the attic and verbally confronted the suspect. In an attempt to escape The suspect fell through the ceiling onto a stack of tables and chairs. After a brief struggle, the deputies took over Sean Stock, 35In custody.

MPs learned that Stock got into the locked office of a manager from which money was stolen. His pockets were stuffed with stolen items and a purse containing nearly $1,000 was taped to his stomach. Caddo Fire District #6 shipped the inventory to Ochsner LSU Health for evaluation.

After being discharged from the hospital, Stock was arrested from the 2000 block of S. Arkansas Street in Springhill and committed to Caddo Correctional Center simple burglary and resistance to an officer.
