Man shot in leg in Londonderry

A man has been shot in the leg in Londonderry.

Police were at the scene of the incident on Whitehouse Road on Monday evening.

A PSNI spokesman said officers were called just after 9:30 p.m.

They said a man was shot in the calf and taken to hospital.

“A road closure is in place in the wider area of ​​Whitehouse Road pending investigations,” they said.

“Anyone with information that may assist a police inquiry is asked to contact officers at Strand Road at number 101 quoting reference number 2026 dated 23/01/23.
