Man United announce summer preseason tour of the United States

Manchester United have confirmed they will travel to the United States this summer to play pre-season games and prepare the squad for next season, the Premier League club announced on Wednesday.

ESPN reported last month that United will face Wrexham in San Diego in July. United didn’t specify when or where the exact location of each game will take place in Wednesday’s announcement but said the program will be announced in the coming weeks.

“This will be our first visit to the USA in five years and everyone at the club is looking forward to it,” said United’s director of football John Murtough.

“We know Manchester United and the Premier League in general are growing in popularity in the US so we look forward to building on that connection this summer.”

Wrexham, meanwhile, are also in talks over a summer friendly with United’s Premier League rivals Chelsea.
