Man United draw against Sevilla in the EL quarter-finals

Manchester United will face Sevilla in the Europa League quarter-finals in a repeat of the 2020 semi-finals.

United, winners of the European trophy in 2017, beat Barcelona in the play-off stage before edging past Real Betis in the round of 16. They meet another LaLiga side in Seville who hold the record number of Europa League titles.

Erik ten Hag will seek to add the Europa League as his second trophy in his debut season as United manager after winning the Carabao Cup in February. United remain in the FA Cup this season and play Fulham in the quarter-finals on Sunday.

United will look to avoid a repeat of the 2020 semi-final between the two sides as Sevilla secured a 2-1 win and won the competition.

Meanwhile, Sporting CP, who defeated Premier League leaders Arsenal on Thursday, face a difficult task against Italian giants Juventus.

Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen host Belgian club Union SG, while Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma meet Feyenoord, who beat Shakhtar Donetsk in a record 7-1 win on Thursday.

United could face former boss Mourinho in the final, with Ten Hag and Roma side on opposite sides of the draw. He spent two years at Old Trafford from 2016 to 2018 and led the club to their last European title.

The winner of the duel between United and Sevilla meets the winners of Juventus and Sporting in the semifinals.

The Europa League quarter-finals will be played on two legs on April 13th and 20th. The two-legged semi-finals will be held on May 11-18 before the final at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary on May 30.
