A PASSENGER was irritated after paying extra for a window seat on a flight, only to end up sitting next to a wall.
Many people think that the window seat is the best place to sit on an airplane as it allows them to enjoy the view on their journey.
However, not every seat at the outer edge of the row offers passengers the desired view.
On a Scoot Air flight recently, a passenger felt underpaid after paying for a seat that he expected would be next to a window.
The person ended up sitting next to a wall with no window at all for the duration of their trip.
He posted a picture of the view, or lack thereof, on Reddit, where he wrote, “Paid extra to book a window seat on Scoot.”
He was firmly convinced that he was right to expect a window as well.
When asked by other users if he actually only booked a “window seat,” he replied, “Not only was it marked as a window seat, but the plane map where you select your seat showed that that seat was not different from the one.” Seat differed from other seats with a real window.”
The reason for this is that planes are not always made for just one airline, which means the cabin’s interior seats may not line up with the windows.
Others felt sympathy for the passenger and understood his frustration.
One said: “Start cutting an exit in the wall. If anyone has questions, let them know that you have prepaid for your actions.”
A second wrote: “Hope you enjoyed the view.”
However, the passenger wasn’t angry enough to demand a refund from the airline.
Instead, he was fairly confident about the whole thing, saying, “Nah, it’s not big … just slightly annoying, that’s all.”
It’s not just Scoot – the same problem occurs with Ryanair as 11A doesn’t have a window.
The number of complaints from angry passengers has even led to a new Twitter account dedicated to the seat called Ryanair 11A.
You might also want to avoid courses 11F and 12F as they don’t usually have windows either.
Some flight attendants would suspect that the passenger had indeed escaped happily, saying that next to a window is actually a bad place to sit.
Cabin crew member Tommy Cimato has shared some of heaven’s best kept secrets with his 460,000 TikTok followers.
And one of the biggest no-nos is leaning against the window.
This, he explains, is because it’s one of the dirtiest places on an airplane.
He said in a TikTok video, “You’re not the only one who has done this and you have no idea how many people or children have wiped their hands or other things all over the window.”
Meanwhile, a frequent flyer revealed why she never books seats next to the person she’s flying with.
And that’s how you win a deckchair war against other passengers on your flight.
