Margo Price Announces Forthcoming Album, ‘Strays’

Margo Price simply knows what is important when it comes to enjoying the great outdoors and creating art.

In this era of psychedelic resurgence and broken taboos, it’s no surprise that the neo-country badass is taking the topic public.

announced their upcoming album, stray, price says:

“I feel this urgency to keep moving, to keep creating. You get stuck in the same thought patterns, in the same addiction loops. But there comes a point when you just have to say, ‘I’m going to be here, I’m going to enjoy it, and I’m not going to be too busy checking the boxes for everyone else.’

I feel more mature in the way I write now, I’m on to more than just seeking big crowds and awards. I’m trying to find what my soul needs.”

Many of strayThe songs came about during a mushroom trip Price took with her husband Jeremy Ivey in South Carolina. The tunes were then cut at a recording studio in Topanga Canyon, a hippie paradise known for its rustic canyon streets and rich music history.

The album features notable appearances: Sharen Van Etten sings on “Radio”, Mike Campbell plays guitar on “Light Me Up” and folk-pop duo Lucius performs on “Anytime You Call”.

Aiming to take an experimental approach by incorporating new sounds and psychedelia, the album is slated for release on January 13, 2023 through Loma Vista Records.
