Mayank Agarwal slams 208; Gujarat bowled for 54 in pursuit of 73

Karnataka skipper Mayank Agarwal scored 208 balls from 360 as his team went to stumps 410/6 on Day 3 of their Ranji Trophy 2022-23 Elite Group C clash against Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday 19 January.

Karnataka finished the day with a 68-run lead, responding to Kerala’s first innings of 342 overall. In another game in the same group, Mahipal Lomror shone on 130* for Rajasthan against Chhattisgarh.

There was an unexpected result in an elite Group D match of the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy. Gujarat, who needed just 73 runs to defeat Vidarbha, folded for just 54 when Aditya Sarwate claimed 6/17.

Thanks to Sarwate’s exploits, Vidarbha set a record by defending the lowest total in the tournament’s history. The previous record was held by Bihar, who defended 78 against Delhi in 1948/49.

In an elite Group B match of the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy, Divij Mehra gave Delhi the full lead with 5/29 against Mumbai. Delhi reduced his opponents to 168/9 with stumps on Day 3.

Mumbai’s lead is just 92 with one wicket in hand. In the same group, Maharashtra defeated Hyderabad by nine wickets when Rajvardhan Hangargekar and Satyajeet Bachhav called for three-fers after Hyderabad was tricked into going on.
