Microstakes madness! ACR $2.50 buy-in draws 49,000 entries and $110,000 prize pool

The microstakes event, dubbed The Dream, easily surpassed the $100,000 guarantee. The tournament was structured as a Progressive Knockout (PKO), reserving a portion of the prize pool for players to KO their opponents.
After all the knockouts ended, ‘CatchM3IfUKan’ was left, taking home $8,275 for winning the event and $1,447 in other player prizes. Not bad for a $2.50 entry fee, right?
While no one was able to catch ‘CatchM3IfUKan’, many were able to hit Pay Dirt. The prize pool has been extended to the top 1,170 finishers, all of whom are likely to be singing the praises of The Dream, an event that had many non-believers before the first virtual hand was dealt.
Many thought that a meager $2.50 entry fee would never be enough to meet the $100,000 guarantee. But The Dream had 22 takeoff flights, giving players ample opportunity to get in on the action.
ACR Team Pro Chris Moneymaker, winner of the 2003 WSOP Main Event for $2 million after earning his entry via a satellite, expressed his support for the event, calling “The Dream” “big poker with basement buy-ins.”
Moneymaker added, “My own experience demonstrates the life-changing opportunities that poker can offer, but rarely have these opportunities been available with such a low buy-in as ‘The Dream’.”
