Middlesbrough man jailed for raping 17-year-old girl
Kenton Quinn, 20, from Middlesbrough, was sentenced to a total of nine years in prison plus four years on an extended license for the sexual assault and a string of other offences.
Quinn, 18 years old at the time of the crime, hit the girl in the face and raped her in August 2021.

Cleveland police officers who investigated the crimes praised the woman for her courage in coming forward.
Detective Constable Steven Neale said: “Firstly I would like to thank the victim in this case for coming forward and having the courage to report these incidents and provide evidence to bring Quinn to justice.”

“We will always take these incidents extremely seriously and I hope that the sentence handed down to Quinn will provide some comfort to the victim, who must have been traumatized by what happened.”

Quinn was also convicted at Newcastle Crown Court of possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon with intent to supply Class C drugs, possession of criminal property, conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and affray in connection with separate incidents.
