A new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 went live last night, bringing some big changes to Activision’s successful FPS.
MW2 is doing well and continuing to sell its name from the fastest selling Call of Duty game in decades, but has serious problems with its content. After the first launch, it’s a week later and players are frustrated with bugs, progression issues, crashes, and a slow and confusing UI.

For some reason the update is 50GB on Xbox console and much more manageable on PS5 and PC under 1GB. Xbox players and gamers looking for an explanation as to why the download is so completely different.
There are other opportunities for weapon and accessory changes, an explanation for cards missing from the game, and a taste of future content that players are eagerly awaiting.

The game has really needed some major fixes since it was released a week ago when players woke up to the update late at night on November 3rd and in the morning on November 4th.
At the time of writing, Infinity Ward has yet to release the release notes. The developer has promised a blog post showing exactly what happened in this patch, so it should be live sometime on November 3rd.
Many players will probably hope that there is an explanation for the big download on Xbox as well. When the downloads are so big, it becomes difficult to play the game.
