Mountain Lion Has Time Of Its Life Playing With Tree Swing In Colorado

For those of us who know mountain lions or have encountered them in the past, there is one sure thing about the creatures…

They must not be played around with.

These big cats are fierce predators that use stealth, strength and speed to take down prey in the blink of an eye, and as the saying goes, if you see one in the wild, it’s seen you first.

However, we usually only see the cruel side of mountain lions, and rightly so, they are wild animals.

But every now and then we see examples of creatures that just kick back and have a good time, like a regular house cat.

Corresponding The News & Observers, Thaddeus Wells built a tree swing in the woods next to a wildlife cam in Black Hawk, Colorado, hoping some bear cubs would spot it and play on it.

Except it wasn’t bear cubs that were attracted to the swing, it was a mountain lion.

The mountain lion had been feeding a deer nearby and was sleeping under the swing when he got curious after the swing hit his paw and started playing with it.

Wells told the outlet:

“When I saw this reaction to the swing, I laughed and fell in love with it. Who wouldn’t? You can see her mind at work. She seems surprised it moved at all, and then surprised to see it swing to the point of hovering over her.

She really turns her attention to that for a while. It has been edited to remove things like her tasting and the swing biting.”

Wells also noted that the mountain lion had a swollen jaw, most likely because the deer it was feeding on kicked it.

How healthy.
