Fabricio Andrade has been one of the most exciting contenders in the ONE Championship since his debut in 2020.
He is now on the verge of the biggest fight of his career this Friday at ONE on Prime Video 3 where he will challenge Bantamweight Champion John Lineker. With the Challenger’s latest form, the biggest names in ONE are taking notice.
After being praised by the likes of Giorgio Petrosyan in the past, Andrade has recently received more recognition. A world flyweight champion, Demetrious Johnson, has ranked ‘Wonder Boy’ as one of his favorite fighters to watch right now.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Fabricio Andrade spoke about what it feels like to be voiced by some of the most legendary fighters in martial arts:
“It’s very satisfying to be a fan of theirs in particular and to follow their career since I was a kid, when I was just starting my career. After watching them for so long, it’s very satisfying to see them following my struggles today and even cheering for me. It shows that my work is well done and recognized. Everything I dreamed of is coming true.”
With him taking the US primetime spotlight in the Main Event against a champion like John Lineker, the stage couldn’t be better for Fabricio Andrade to show his fans just how good he really is.
Fabricio Andrade looks forward to performing in front of a live audience
For the biggest fight of his life so far, Fabricio Andrade gets the chance to fight for a world title in front of a sold out Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With ONE in the spotlight on Prime Video 3 and a massive world bantamweight title fight against John Lineker, this is not only his biggest test yet, it’s also his biggest event.
Since making his debut at ONE in 2020, Fabricio Andrade has proven to be one of the most exciting candidates for the promotion. However, this will be his first time fighting in front of fans.
With all his work up to this point being done behind closed doors, Asian MMA’s Andrew Whitelaw asked Andrade how he feels about fighting in Malaysia this time:
“Yes, it’s really beautiful, but I think it will be even more beautiful because it will be my first time fighting for the public. People will be there because all my fights in ONE were not public at all. I’m looking forward to it all the more. It doesn’t matter to me where it is, but if people are there cheering and shouting, that will excite me even more.”
