The event brings together the biggest names in the industry to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its members.

While some familiar faces won awards this year, there were some surprises as This Morning lost its winning streak after The Repair Shop won the Daytime Award.

Losing an award this morning wasn’t the only notable event that took place last night, as there were numerous tributes to the late and great Paul O’Grady.

The star was best known for his alter ego Lily Savage and for his work with the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in ITV’s For The Love of Dogs.

Also at the awards ceremony, 1% Club presenter Lee Mack took a hilarious dig at Ant and Dec as he picked up the award for Best Quiz Game Show.

Noticing the microphone was way down, he said, “Well, I don’t know who set up the microphones, but I bet they thought he was doing the talking,” before pointing to a shorter colleague.

Adding: “…Or that Ant and Dec would win.”

The camera then panned to an amused Ant and Dec in the NTA audience.
