New Conservative School Board Members Fire Superintendent, Ban Critical Race Theory at First Meeting

A group of parents who had ousted their school board members in South Carolina wasted no time in using their new powers, including immediately firing their district chief and eliminating all traces of the Critical Race Theory (CRT) in their schools.
A group of parents running for school board acted immediately to fulfill their campaign promise. Once the new majority was sworn in to take their place in South Carolina’s Berkeley County School District, they moved.
Within the first two hours of their first meeting after being sworn in, the board fired principal Deon Jackson, fired district in-house counsel Tiffany Richardson, banned every part of the CRT curriculum they could find, and set up a committee to implement it to ensure that books in county libraries were age appropriate, NBC News reported.
The new majority of Conservative parents who took over the school board took their seats after a campaign by a group called Moms for Liberty, a group that opposed the leftist agenda in races across the country ahead of the 2022 midterm elections and joined many outraged parents .
NBC found that Moms for Liberty supported more than 500 school board members across the county and achieved a staggering 49 percent success rate.

In South Carolina’s Berkeley County, for example, Moms for Liberty flipped six board seats and took a majority on the board. This enabled them to implement their agenda quickly.
Celebrating the board’s quick action, Moms for Liberty said, “Six new board members clean house first night at work.”
Liberal media outlets like NBC were shocked that the district’s “first black superintendent,” Jackson, was fired immediately. But the board replaced Jackson with Anthony Dixon, who is also black.
In fact, the new chairman, Mac McQuillin, warned the audience to calm down as they announced the end of Jackson’s job.
Would you ever run for school board?
“All right, listen,” McQuillin said during the meeting. “We will be respectful at this meeting. You may not agree with our voices, but I ask that you remain respectful and calm. What example are you setting for our children by disrupting a gathering like this?”
Former, more liberal board members were also concerned about Jackson’s and Richardson’s sacking.
David Barrow, the ousted CEO, called the firings a “travesty” and a “political witch hunt,” NBC added.
Another member of the previous board, Yvonne Bradley, attacked the new majority, saying: “Ladies and gentlemen, you are fooled by these six. Unbelievable – what the chairman would do. It’s so amazing how it’s done.”
Bradley also blasted the audience for voting for the new majority.
Local liberals also angered the new majority for banning CRT, a move the left claimed was a farce because there is no CRT curriculum at all in schools. They also claimed that a committee to review library books was unnecessary since rules governing the purchase of books for schools were already in place.
Still, the board joined 8-0 to set up a committee to create guidelines to remove “inappropriate sexual/pornographic content” from schools after discovering that teachers, mental health professionals and librarians were also part of the committees would be.
While the board of directors in South Carolina’s Berkeley school district is shocking at how quickly it has moved to implement a pro-parent agenda, it’s not the only school board affected by Moms for Liberty and other parent groups trying to oust leftists from positions who have influence schools.
In another report, NBC found that Florida parents have sent at least 25 new school board members to work, along with support from powerful Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. And the governor had great success with his school notes.
Lindsey Curnutt, a member of DeSantis’ communications department, said in a statement that the governor “led a coalition of parents to establish a student-first, parent-rights school board statewide.” The DeSantis education agenda was on the ballot, and voters made their voice clear: We want education, not indoctrination.”
Moms for Liberty also entered Florida’s school board race by endorsing 51 candidates. Twenty-eight of those contestants won, NBC noted. In contrast, the state’s Democratic Party supported 30 candidates but only nine won. And the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Charlie Crist, endorsed seven school board candidates and only three won. Crist also lost his race against DeSantis.
Time will tell how effective these new conservative, pro-parent school board members will be, but either way, it’s about time parents start paying more attention to the extreme left that is pouring into our schools under the guise of ‘education ‘ is imposed. by these school boards and to start making moves to stop them.
