Newcastle-based Alfred Bagnall & Son join the Paint Green scheme
The North East branch of nationwide Alfred Bagnall & Son Ltd has committed to reducing waste by joining the Painting and Decorating Association scheme.
Paint Green recognizes PDA member companies that reduce, reuse or recycle excess paint and paint containers as part of their sustainability journey.
With a branch in Newcastle serving the region, Bagnalls North East is one of ten branches that have signed up to the Paint Green Pledge, committing to recycling more than 70% of paint containers and more than 90% of surplus paint.
PDA chief executive Neil Ogilvie said: “Many of our PDA members have committed to reducing the amount of paint and container waste as part of our Paint Green initiative and we are delighted that Bagnalls stores across the UK have supported the scheme .”
“We encourage our members to look for ways to reduce waste and either recycle leftover paint or find a way to reuse it. We hope the program will expand over time and allow members to incorporate systemic change as part of a sustainability journey.
“PDA members are trained, insured and trusted employees who are committed to delivering quality work at a reasonable price.”
Homes and businesses across the North East can look for the PDA and Paint Green logos to ensure the painter and decorator they choose is trained, insured and committed to reducing waste.
