Newcastle United are just a point ahead of Liverpool in the Champions League

However, they are now just a point ahead of Liverpool in fifth place, while fourth-placed Manchester United are level on points with Newcastle.

Both Newcastle and Manchester United have one game left on Jurgen Klopp’s side, keeping them in pole position for a Champions League spot.

The Magpies have three games left – at home against Brighton and Leicester and away at Chelsea – and need two wins to secure a place in the top four.
