Nigella Lawson Hits Out At TV Rivals Whose Cookery Shows Are ‘A Theatre Of Cruelty And Humliation’

Nigella Lawson has hit out at her “mean” TV rivals, branding some cooking shows “theater of cruelty and humiliation”.

The TV chef, known for her soothing presentation style and lavish recipes, said she couldn’t be on a show that’s cruel to its contestants.

“It also inhibits people at home from cooking because they have this haunting voice in their heads. I could not be part of such a program.

“That’s not to say you’re not being honest, but there’s no reason to be mean.”

In an Australian television interview last year, Nigella said she “didn’t even realize I’d said that out loud” and explained, “I’d say it’s just a joke at home if I mispronounce words.”

When asked if she had any other unexpected nicknames for things around the house, Nigella said, “I have other words that I use, you know how all families have those words.

“When I get a new device, I have to read the destruction … if I meet someone, I have to text them that I’m on my way.”
