Novellos opens in Gosforth following success in Washington
Based in New Road, Washington, Novellos has quickly become a must-try in the regional food scene.
With the WA site now successful, it was announced that Novellos would be taking over the former San Lorenzo restaurant on Gosforth High Street as part of its expansion plans.

Novellos was founded as a joint venture between chef Dean Lathbury and restaurant manager Dorian Koti, who have previously been involved in a number of ventures including starting their own restaurant in Durham.
The two men reunited last year to open Novellos, which has proven extremely popular with guests from the local area and beyond.

Around £100,000 will be spent on renovating the restaurant. The opening is planned for November with a new name and new look.
Combining Italian pizza and pasta favorites with some unique twists as well as richer main courses has proven to be a winning combination, which the team are now looking to replicate in Gosforth.
The building the company plans to move into in Gosforth has been vacant since San Lorenzo closed its doors in April and the previous owner’s company went into liquidation in August.
Restaurant manager Mr Koti said: “We are delighted to be expanding the Novellos brand at this fantastic location in Gosforth.
“We know it’s a busy place and we’re sure the restaurant will be as popular in Newcastle as it is in WA.”
As part of the renovation, the exact opening date of Novellos is not yet known – however the venue has issued a small update and is recruiting staff for its new restaurant in Gosforth.
