After the Denver Nuggets (47-2417-18 away) now have to play the second half of a back-to-back against the 6th-seeded Brooklyn Nets (39-3119-13 home).
That means five losses in six games for the Nuggets, who hold the West’s top seed in the NBA playoff bracket and are down to 3.5 games against both the Sacramento Kings and the Memphis Grizzlies.
Brooklyn, on the other hand, was held below 100 points in its last game, a loss to the Kings. They’ve lost back-to-back and have a slim 2-game lead over the Miami Heat, who sit in seventh place and play-in position.
The promotion begins Sunday (March 19) at 3:30pm ET from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. You can watch the game live on NBA League Pass.

The NBA odds have Hometown Nets as 2-point homedogs and +110 on the moneyline. As a final game, the nuggets sit at -130 on the moneyline, with an implied win probability of 56.52%.
With Denver’s loss to the Knicks in their last game, they’re down below .500 (17-18) along the way. Only Sacramento and the Clippers play .500 or more streetball in the West.
At 19-13 at Barclays, the Nets are one of only two teams, along with the Atlanta Hawks, to have fewer than 20 home wins in the East’s top 10.

Denver betting analysis
With a 12-point lead in the third quarter, Denver couldn’t hold onto the lead, eventually giving up a 16-5 run to end the quarter before scoring just 19 points in the final frame and losing 116-110.
Nikola Jokic, once the 2023 NBA MVP odds favorite, led with 24 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists but turned it around six times while hitting just 1-5 from downtown.

Jamal Murray was the only other nugget to crack 20+ and drop 25 with six assists while also drilling 5-to-7 from long range.
While the Nuggets are shooting 49.9% off the field during that slide, they’re only scoring 112.5 points per game, which would put them in a bottom 6 mark.
That wouldn’t be such a big problem if they weren’t also struggling defensively, dropping 118 points a game in their last six games. Teams shoot 50.8% from the field and 37.4% from downtown.
That being said, odds makers still consider this a blip as Denver still holds the fourth-best odds for the NBA championship.

Brooklyn Betting Analysis
Getting a body on the glass doesn’t always correlate with fights, but it’s become a huge problem for the Nets.
BK lost to Sacramento 101-96 in the last game, scoring no second chance points, not hitting offensive rebounds and losing the rebound fight 57-41, including 13-0 on the offensive glass. Brooklyn is second-bottom in the NBA with 40.3 rebounds per game.
Mikal Bridges was the top scorer, dropping 23 points with four rebounds and two assists, while Nic Claxton had 14 points and 14 boards.

This is the second time in seven days that the Nets have played the Nuggets, beating them 122-120 away, one of just six losses for Denver, who have the league’s best home record (30-6).
All five starters had double-digit points, led by Bridges with 25, while Spencer Dinwiddie had 15 points and 16 assists. Brooklyn resisted a Monster Jokic night as he had 35 points, 20 rebounds and 11 assists.
Nuggets vs Nets betting prediction
This will be Denver’s 10th game played on consecutive days, and it’s going 5-4-0 against the spread in the previous nine. They’ve been a bad bet lately, going just 1-6 ATS in their last seven.
Brooklyn hasn’t exactly benefited from more days off, going 6-9-0 ATS with the residual advantage despite being 6-0 ATS in their last six against teams with lost road records.
We burned taking Denver to cover against the Knicks, but again, that’s a legitimate contender against a team in transition in BK.
Don’t worry the Nuggets have been 0-3-1 ATS for the last four meetings in Brooklyn. You’re too good to drop another one.
