One day’s anniversary is over

Sony and Polyphony Digital are in full teasing about the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 update.

Producer and director Kazunori Yamauchi took to Twitter to tease about the 25th anniversary game.

The original game was first released in Japan on December 23, 1997. The western release came in May of the next year, so we were only a month away from the big anniversary.

Yamauchi teased three cars with such silhouettes. These look like the Ford Sierra RS, a BMW M2 Competition and a Nissan Silvia S14 but will have to wait for the official announcement for full confirmation.

The biggest news, however, came from a very short trailer. The book mentions the legend “Vicar Shock” on Sunday November 27th.

If you don’t understand the definition, the Vision Gran Turismo cars are fictional concept cars created by Polyphony Digital and the manufacturer’s designers and engineers.

The date of the reveal is certainly no coincidence as the 2022 GT World Series World Finals will be held this week on November 24-27.

This event will be streamed live from Monaco. You can see the trailer at the end of the post. It is very likely that the update will also be released in a similar period.

The game was updated monthly every year. The last one brought in in October was pretty much due to a new one.
