One in hospital after a crash on Somerset Road in Norton

The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) confirmed it received a report of an accident involving a motorcycle at the junction of Norton Avenue and Somerset Road in Stockton at 2.17pm today (September 2).

They added that they had dispatched a specialist paramedic, a clinical team leader, an ambulance crew and a rescue helicopter to the scene.

A NEAS spokesman confirmed one person was taken to James Cook Hospital by ambulance.

They said: “At 2.17pm we received a call with reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Norton Avenue and Somerset Road involving a motorcycle.”

“We deployed a specialist paramedic, a clinical team leader, an ambulance crew and a rescue helicopter.

“A patient was taken by road to James Cook Hospital.”

The Northern Echo has contacted Cleveland Police for further information about the incident.
