Oscars 2023 criticized for excluding big-name Hollywood stars from In Memoriam tribute

The 2023 Oscars are being criticized for omitting several key names from the In Memoriam segment.
During the ceremony on Sunday (March 12), Lenny Kravitz performed “Calling All Angels” while a screen behind him showed a montage of notable figures from the film world who have died over the past year.
These included Olivia Newton John, Ray Liotta, Angela Lansbury, Jean-Luc Godard and Irene Cara.
Other stars of the segment included Burt Bacharach, Nichelle Nichols, Kirstie Alley and Racquel Welch.

The end of the video prompted viewers to visit the Acaemy’s website to see more names that never made it into the main video, which has led to criticism.
Among those left out was Charlbi Dean, the rising star who played the female lead in the Best Picture-nominated film triangle of sadness. Dean died suddenly last year at the age of 32.
volcano And Donnie Brasco‘s Anne Heche was omitted, as was British star David Warner (The Omen, titanic) And Goodfellas Actor Paul Sorvino.
Chaim Topol, who was nominated for an Oscar violinist on the roof1982, died last week, but the producers couldn’t find a place for him in the main segment.
Of course, the omissions have sparked anger on social media, with many stating that they should have lengthened the section to include them.
