Oscars 2023: why is there no red carpet this year?
For the first time since 1961, the Academy Awards will be held without their iconic red carpet. That’s because this year’s Oscars have opted for stars who flaunt their stuff on a champagne-colored carpet. The move breaks with 62-year tradition and comes as the academy wanted a “calming” color for the event. British and Irish actors are preparing for the ceremony tonight in Los Angeles.
