Pacers vs Pistons betting trends
This game is significantly more important for the Pacers (31-37, 12-21 a) than the Pistons (15-53, 8-27 at home). Indiana started Sunday a half-game back from a play-in tournament spot under the NBA playoff bracket, while Detroit retired from the postseason quite some time ago.
The Pistons have endured their worst season with 11 straight losses, marking the third time this season that they have gone on a losing streak of at least five games.
The most recent loss came from the Pacers on Saturday as Indiana celebrated a 121-115 win. Jalen Smith led by 20 points off the bench while Andrew Nembhard and Isaiah Jackson each had 19 points.
Indiana was without its top two scorers, Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner, while their fourth-top scorer, Bennedict Mathurin, also sat. Both Haliburton (knee) and Turner (back) will sit out Monday while Mathurin (ankle) is a question.

The win was the Pacers’ first in the last five games that Haliburton has missed and only the third in 14 games without their star guard this season. Indiana has averaged just 111 points this season without Haliburton, four fewer than their long-season mark.
Detroit, meanwhile, got 18 points from Isaiah Livers and 17 points from Killian Hays for playing without four regulars. Isaiah Stewart (hip), Bojan Bogdanovic (Achilles) and Jaden Ivey (health and safety) were all seated while Cade Cunningham (knee) is done for the season.
The Pistons were also without Alec Burks (foot) and Hamidou Diallo (ankle), and there’s a chance all six could be back on Monday. If there was any question about Detroit potentially tanking for the number one pick overall, it seems they’ll answer it.

Despite the lack of bodies lately, the Pistons have managed to remain competitive in most games while still picking up losses. Their recent loss to Indiana underscores this as Detroit was arguably the better team.
Both teams shot 46% from the field, while the Pistons were more efficient starting at three. Detroit also racked up more assists and fewer turnovers, but failed to capitalize on its freebies. They missed nine of their 27 free throws and that was the difference between coverage and a miss. Indiana was favored by 3.5 points this game, and now the Pistons get an extra half point on Monday.

There aren’t many winnable games left on the Pistons’ roster. Of the remaining 14 competitions, only two are against teams that aren’t in the midst of some sort of post-season race.
The Pacers are without their top two players and possibly their fourth-best scorer. They’ve struggled badly this season without Haliburton and Turner’s absence leaves them vulnerable inside and on the glass.
