Pain Hustlers on Netflix: Cast list, plot and release date

The fictional story comes from the New York Times article and the subsequent nonfiction book by Evan Hughes and has been described as “American greed told on a grand scale.”

Blunt, known for her other roles in The Devil Wears Prada and A Quiet Place with her husband John Krasinski, recently announced she was taking a break from acting.

“I’m not working this year. I worked quite a bit last year and my oldest baby is nine, so we’re in the last single digit year,” the actress explained on an episode of iHeart’s Table for Two podcast.

“And I just feel [like] There are cornerstones of their day that are so important when they are little.”

What is Pain Hustlers on Netflix about?

Netflix said: “Pain Hustlers is the story of a troubled single mother (Emily Blunt) who loses her job and takes a new position at a failing pharmaceutical start-up.

“Things become much more complicated than she expected as the company becomes involved in a fraud case and the job becomes much more dangerous.”

BAFTA Award-winning filmmaker David Yates and acclaimed short fiction writer Wells Tower co-created the film, which also features famous faces from Schitt’s Creek, Mamma Mia!, Beetlejuice and West Side Story.

Director Yates commented on the character of Pete Brenner: “Everything in Pete’s life is transactional.”

“So he’s superficial, but also vulnerable. It’s also very entertaining because it’s completely unfiltered – loud, brash, profane.”

Is Pain Hustlers available on Netflix?

“Pain Hustlers” will be available to stream on Netflix starting October 27th.

However, there will be a limited release in the UK in select cinemas on October 20th.
