An influencer has revealed the one thing plane passengers do that she thinks is the “absolute worst thing” and that many people are guilty of.
There are many other people on airplanes that can be irritating, with bare feet, reclined seats, and open window blinds, all among the things that can upset people.
However, at the top of the list is another habit: passengers stand in the aisle before the plane has even stopped.
One person who isn’t a fan is fitness star and frequent flyer Stephanie Miller, who called the act “the absolute worst thing.”
The topic came up while discussing airplane etiquette on the podcast Kicpod, which she co-hosts with fellow model Laura Henshaw.
She said: “There is one thing people do on planes that is the absolute worst.
“And the first thing to do is get everyone up.
“I’m sorry, but if you get up and find everyone else just standing there with the lines going nowhere for 15 minutes, sit back down.”
The couple, who own global wellness app Keep It Cleaner, recently vented their frustration with the habit in a conversation.
Laura added: “Not once. I can not.
“This is where I get very angry and there are these poor elderly people trying to get their stuff.
“Some people like to sit there and that’s fine, but you just have to wait for people to leave in front of you.”
Steph shared a clip of the chat to her Instagram and said there were two types of passengers.
Those who stand as soon as the plane lands, or those who sit and wait and wonder “why the hell are people standing”.
She then asked her 1.5 million followers, “Who are you,” and her question sparked debate.
One follower commented, “The worst thing is sitting in an aisle seat and doing the right thing by waiting, but then feeling like you’re holding people up in the middle and window seats.”
Another agreed, adding: “I’m definitely sitting and waiting; There’s no rush.”
However, others said the only reason they stand up is to stretch their legs.
One person wrote, “I get it, really, but after a long flight, sometimes your body just wants to get up and stretch, not sit.”
Another added: “I’m standing but just to wait standing up because my legs need the stretch after a flight didn’t know it would trigger so many!”
A third person said: “Same! My back, hips and legs don’t do well after air travel so I have to stretch them every chance I get!”
A man also said that he gets up because he is tall.
He wrote: “Have some consideration for those of us who have our knees crushed against the front seat back because we’re 6ft 4 and airplanes are only made for little people.”
Meanwhile, this barefoot passenger was shamed for causing a “nightmarish” plane encounter.
And this person shared opinion with their “evil” method of preventing people from reclining their seats.
