Piers Morgan And Dan Walker Lock Horns Again Over Their Respective Mick Lynch Interviews

Former daytime rivals Piers Morgan and Dan Walker had another very public clash over their respective interviews with Mick Lynch.

Earlier this week, Piers went viral for his interview with the RMT leader after dedicating entire minutes of the conversation to the fact that his Facebook profile picture was of Thunderbirds villain The Hood.

When Lynch asked if the host “could see the resemblance,” Piers said, “I just wonder where the comparison is going…he was obviously an evil criminal terrorist mastermind described as the most dangerous man alive.”

“Is that the level you’re offering this at Piers?” Lynch hit back. “Wouldn’t you rather talk about the problems than a little vinyl doll from the 1960s?”

The conversation continued in vain for the next two minutes.

Dan then interviewed the RMT leader on Channel 5’s flagship news program about the ongoing rail strikes at his new home.

Following his exchange with Lynch, the former BBC breakfast presenter tweeted: “We live in the age of chatty, confrontational interviews and the RMT’s Mick Lynch has had quite a few of those.

“If you treat people with respect, you can still ask tough questions and get decent answers so your audience can make up their own minds.”

Perhaps sensing this was a reference to his own interview, Piers quickly fired back: “Is there anyone more deluded on world television than Desperate Dan…the world’s most boring interviewer?”

“Why is it ‘boring’ to actually let someone speak instead of constantly shouting at them?” Dan asked.

Piers then claimed he had to “quit” his old job at Good Morning Britain because it was too exciting/dangerous.

“You had to leave the BBC because even by their standards you’re a cranky fool,” he added.

“But your pompous lectures on how to do interviews are pretty damn funny, I’ll give you that.”

Dan then replied: “You left GMB because one of your colleagues called you. Her “exciting/dangerous” response to that was [to walk off set].”

Alongside a gif of Piers storming out of the GMB studio in March 2021, Dan added, “Next time I promise to spend at least five minutes with Thunderbirds.”

Piers announced his immediate departure from Good Morning Britain in March 2021 after it was revealed Ofcom would announce an investigation into comments he made live on air about Meghan Markle.

That included challenging the claims in her interview with Oprah Winfrey that she had suicidal thoughts as a senior member of the royal family.

Ofcom eventually ruled that GMB had not breached their guidelines by broadcasting Piers’ remarks, pointing out they were countered by his co-host Susanna Reid.

During their tenures at BBC Breakfast and GMB, Dan and Piers engaged in what is usually playful rivalry, centered mostly around their viewership ratings and different interviewing styles.

However, last week Dan gave an interview in which he detailed an incident when he felt Piers had crossed a line in their long-running “feud.” Piers Morgan And Dan Walker Lock Horns Again Over Their Respective Mick Lynch Interviews
