Planned Parenthood Stealth Edits Fetal Heartbeat Fact Sheet

Abortion giant Planned Parenthood has reportedly issued a clandestine edit of its fetal development fact sheet to change the language, apparently supporting the idea that fetuses actually have a heartbeat after six weeks in the womb.

Although it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly when Planned Parenthood changed language, Fox News noted that the organization’s website said babies have a heartbeat as early as six weeks on July 25 this year. Life News also noted the change on August 22.

“A very basic beating heart and circulatory system is developing,” the original fact sheet states in the What Happens in Week 5-6 section.

The edited section now says: “Part of the embryo is beginning to show cardiac activity. It sounds like a heartbeat on an ultrasound, but it’s not a fully formed heart — it’s the earliest stage of heart development.”

Planned Parenthood’s new fact sheet appears to contradict the National Library of Medicine, which states that five-week-old fetuses have a “brain, spinal cord, and heart” that begins to develop and then “beats at a regular rhythm.” six weeks.

“This can be seen through vaginal ultrasound,” says the National Library of Medicine.

The UK’s National Health Service also says that “the heart forms as a simple tube-like structure around the fifth week” and “[the] The baby already has some blood vessels of its own and the blood is starting to circulate.”

Conservatives widely noted the change Thursday after Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams suggested fetal heartbeats were a “manufactured sound” designed to control a woman’s body.

“There’s no such thing as a heartbeat at six weeks,” Abrams said Wednesday. “It’s an artificial sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman’s body.”

Abrams was likely targeting Georgia’s 2019 law, which banned most abortions in the state after doctors detected a fetal heartbeat, which usually occurs after about six weeks.

Because most women don’t know they’re pregnant for the first six weeks, the law bans virtually all abortions in the Peach State. Despite facing numerous hurdles, the law finally went into effect this year after the fall of the Supreme Court Roe v. calf.

Speaking to CNN, Abrams promised that abortion would be “at the heart” of her campaign.

“Women deserve full citizenship in the United States and certainly in the state of Georgia and they are being denied that because of Brian Kemp’s 6-week ban,” Abrams said. “Not only are we evicting doctors and nurses from the state, we will likely evict jobs as well. And that should be terrifying for everyone, regardless of your political beliefs.” Planned Parenthood Stealth Edits Fetal Heartbeat Fact Sheet
