Police appeal following alleged assault in Burn Place, Willington
A man has been treated for injuries to his hand and arm after he allegedly attacked Burn Place in Willington at 8.45pm on Monday (30 May).
The man was taken to hospital after the incident after being treated at the scene by the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS).
A cordon was put up while officers gathered evidence.

A spokesman for Durham Police said: “Police are appealing for information following an assault in the alleyway of Burn Place, Willington, at around 8.45pm last night (29 May).”
“Colleagues from the North East Ambulance Service treated a man at the scene for injuries to his hand and arm. He was taken to the hospital before being discharged this morning.
“A cordon was put up to allow officers to collect evidence.”
A man has since been arrested on suspicion of causing dangerous bodily harm and remains in custody.

Eyewitnesses reported that the road had been closed since the night. It is believed that the lockdown has now been lifted.
A NEAS spokesman said: “We were called at 9.03pm on Monday with reports of an injured person at Burn Place, Willington.”
“We dispatched an ambulance and transported a patient to North Durham University Hospital for further treatment.”
