Pony Bradshaw To Release New Album ‘North Georgia Rounder’ In January

Pony Bradshaw has a new project on the way.

He just announced his upcoming album All-rounder from North Georgia scheduled for release on January 27, 2023.

The sequel to his 2021 Calico Jim The Georgia native says the album was inspired by his travels as a musician as well as life back home in the Peach State’s Appalachia region:

“I long for an orderly life and it is difficult to reconcile this need with spending half my life on the streets.

But stories have to be told and I somehow managed to tell them.”

He released the lead single “Foxfire Wine” earlier today which is full of beautiful pedal steel and was actually inspired by Bruce Chatwin’s book song lines.

The book is about nomadic people living in Australia, but Bradshaw has curated the lyrics to fit what he knows about life in the southern Appalachia:

The entire album was recorded in just five days at Jason Weinheimer’s Fellowship Hall Sound in Little Rock, Arkansas, the same location where he recorded Calico Jim.

Bradshaw added that at this point in his life, he embraces every part of himself and brings that authenticity to his music:

“I have learned after some time and trial and error that we are all original, if we just are who we are, if we only create or make what we find value in and what interests us, we will be fine.

I no longer fight what I am. I revere the traditions and old ways and try to find my way somewhere in the middle.”

He also released another song from the tracklist today, “Safe in the Arms of Vernacular”:

And we all know that right now is some of the best music comes straight from Appalachiaso make sure you check out all the great music Pony Bradshaw has already put out and stay tuned for more from All-rounder from North Georgia.
