Priyanka Chopra has achieved equal pay for the first time in her career on Citadel

Priyanka Chopra is pretty in pink in a special appearance at the SXSW Festival 2023 in Austin, Texas on Friday (March 10).

The 40-year-old actress spoke to Amazon Studios. Jennifer Salke during the event that kicked off the celebrations and opened how citadelwas the first time she was paid the same as her male co-star.

“I’ve been in the entertainment industry for 22 years and have been in over 70 feature films and two TV shows.” Priyanka shared on stage, via THR. “But when I did citadelit was the first time in my career that I had pay parity.”

She continued, saying while laughing about it, it was “kind of crazy. I put in the same amount of investment and work, but I get paid a lot less. But the ease with which Amazon Studios said, ‘That’s what you deserve, you’re co-leads, that’s just fair,’ and I said, ‘You’re right, it’s fair.'”

Priyanka adding, “And I’m wondering, did that happen because there are very few female decision-makers in Hollywood? Would that have been a different conversation if a woman hadn’t made that decision? These are not conversations that just happened.”
